United Malayan Land Bhd (UMLand) has launched its latest commercial project, featuring a hotel, retail components and serviced residences.
With a gross development value of RM452 million, Suasana Iskandar Malaysia will be located on Jalan Trus, within Johor Bahru’s tourist belt and near the Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (CIQ) complex. Its development is in line with a wider initiative of revitalising and rejuvenating Johor Bahru under the government’s Johor Bahru Transformation Programme.
UMLand group CEO, Charlie Chia noted that the four-and-a-half-star hotel, dubbed Amari Johor Baru will offer 200 rooms, and will be the country’s first Amari hotel.
Aside from this, the project will also offer 335 units of service residences.
“Construction of all components of Suasana Iskandar Malaysia will be completed simultaneously by the end of 2015,” he said.
UMLand has earlier inked a memorandum of understanding with Samsung C&T Sdn Bhd for joint construction works as well as an agreement with Onyx Hospitality Group for Amari Johor Baru hotel’s management.
Meanwhile, Chia also revealed that the company plans to launch a new township project in Felda Cahaya Baru, Masai next year, which will comprise mainly affordable homes priced at RM150,000.
